She stared wistfully into the sea. Thoughts crossed her mind, working through her, intertwining her heart. She chuckled, she felt like this much too often for her own taste. Slowly taking a short step forward, she lowered herself down onto the edge of the rocky incline, and took in the breeze. The salty air felt nice, it always has, ever since she was little. One of the few things carried from her childhood, ever since she took up this life.

This life of secrets, a life of not being who she was. She treasured moments like this, when she didn’t have to worry about anything, no covers, no secrets. Just her and her own thoughts. She mulled over the lingering thoughts, the thoughts of how it would be if she hadn’t chosen this life. To settle down, with a certain boy she had met only over a year or two. She chuckled again, if he ever knew she was considering it, he’d have a heart attack.

No, she couldn’t have that. He was far too valuable. To the world, to the government, to her. This secret would be locked away, along with every other personal memory that could be used against her. But before she locked them up, she whispered four words, hoping they’ll be carried on the wind, drifting off to who knows where.
